It´s Friday and we´re still in Argostoli, waiting for a decent weather window to do the crossing to Sicily. Yesterday the four of us hired a car again and explored the inland of Cephalonia. In Sami we saw the Danish couple that was also on the quay in Argostoli and in Assos we waved at Robin and Iris, who had left us that morning and were now anchored in Assos´ bay.
At the moment it seems that we can leave for Sicily tomorrow VERY early, like 3 am. According to the skipper, we can expect rain, big waves and possibly thunderstorms during the first four hours, but will hopefully have reached Siracusa before the wind turns against us on Monday morning.
The winter tent has been up for two days, which is a good thing. It´s pissing down now, and I had to do the last bits of shopping in full wet gear, fake crocks and a plastic bag covering the trolley. Surely a charming image J. Eddie is stretched out on the table, his tail wagging moodily. He’s annoyed that he can’t play outside because of the rain. Better not tell him about the 50-hour crossing……..
