We´ve been in Marina di Ragusa for over a week and all we've done so far is work, work and work. The sails had to be cleaned (in the dinghy, filled with a cleaning concoction of fresh water, Woolite and vinegar) and put away, the spray hood needed a new top, engine oil had to be changed, Vic had a hellish job getting the windlass out of the forward deck, plus we had of course do the unescapable socializing :) Most yachties have been in the marina for a month, and all the social events are therefore already in full swing. We attended two BBQs, one happy hour (ok, make that evening) and a music night. As in every fall, trying to memorize the names of all the other yachties is quite a challenge.
We’re on the same pontoon as in the winter of 2011/2012 and Eddie had no problem finding his way back to his favorite play ground – the bushes opposite the entrance of the main pontoon. Besides him and Jack Russel Tommy there are no other pets in the marina this winter. Tommy’s boat is at the beginning of our pontoon and Eddie is trying very hard making him his new best friend. So far, Tommy hasn’t been very keen , but who knows what kind of relationship might develop in the future…….
